The playoffs are almost upon us. On Sunday, the Chiefs properly begin their title defense, and in preparation they’re already getting fans pumped up ahead of their clash against the Miami Dolphins.
In fact, on Thursday night, the Chiefs released their customary Playoffs promo video in which a narrator, dressed in a silky red tuxedo and white turtleneck, recounts the Chiefs’ recent Super Bowl wins in epic fashion. “The regular season is over and we’ve had a great year / Happy post season, Chiefs kingdom, the playoffs are here / It might not be a holiday but we’ll treat it like like one / Three Super Bowls to our name and the fun’s just begun,” he begins, rather poetically.
Of course, the narrator didn’t miss out on the opportunity to mention Chiefs star Travis Kelce’s romance with singer Taylor Swift. “Valentine’s Day is jealous of the ‘love story’ we have / Who could ever separate the end zone from Trav?” he reads, all while emphatic images of ‘Trav’ making catches and scoring touchdowns are displayed on the screen.
Despite the importance of the upcoming weeks in the battle to win the Super Bowl, the Travis and Taylor love story continues to dominate headlines. Both the Chiefs and the NFL’s official accounts have got in on the romantic action. Back in December, the league produced a cartoon of the tight end making friendship bracelets- he allegedly gave Swift one in his early pursuit of her. In recent weeks, rumors of engagement have also resurfaced, with some even predicating that a summer wedding could be on the cards.
