If Kylie Kelce has anything to say about it, her husband Jason may arrive home one day soon to find a new family cat meowing at him. Kylie hinted on Instagram earlier this week that she may bring a cat home without asking permission.
If she does, it’ll serve as a payback of sorts for a recent moment when the Philadelphia Eagles center stripped off his shirt during an NFL game and jumped from his stadium box into the crowd.
“‘I’m not asking for permission, I’m doing this.’ – the exact quote I will say when I’m grabbing the keys to go get a cat,” Kylie wrote on Instagram, referencing the words her husband used while discussing his game-day decision on a recent episode of New Heights, the podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce.
On New Heights, Jason described the joy he felt while mingling with Bills fans, known as the “Bills Mafia,” at a tailgate before the Jan. 21 Chiefs-Bills game at Highmark Stadium in New York. Jason, Kylie, and other members of the Kelce family were attending the game in support of Travis. Jason told his brother that he regretted not having enough time at the tailgate to take off his shirt and quickly realized he could still accomplish that goal once he entered the stadium.
“I noticed, ‘Hey, I could jump out of this box and I’ll be outside. And if I take my shirt off, then I’m outside and I’m part of the Buffalo Bills pageantry,'” Jason recalled. He described being “caught up in the magic of Bills Mafia” and said he wanted to do something to “be like my Buffalo Bills Mafia compadres.” “I gave Kylie a heads up,” Jason said. “The moment we got in the suite, I said, ‘I’m taking my shirt off and I’m jumping out of that suite.’ And she said, ‘Jason, don’t you dare.'” But as Jason told Travis, “I’m not asking for permission. I’m doing this.”
Jason recalled that Kylie had wanted him to be on his “best behavior” because they were both meeting pop star Taylor Swift, Travis’ girlfriend, for the first time that day. “I don’t think she was happy about it, to be honest with you,” Jason said of his wife. After the New Heights episode was released on Wednesday, the podcast shared a clip from the brothers’ conversation about Jason’s shirtless display on Instagram. “Jason Kelce only knows one way to make an impression,” the post said.
