Taylor Swift has a bit of bad blood with the NFL officials refereeing Travis Kelce’s game on Sunday. The pop star, 34, cheered on boyfriend Kelce, 34, as he and the Kansas City Chiefs took on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sunday afternoon — and she was not happy with every call.
At the top of the third quarter, the tight end missed a pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes while Patriots cornerback Myles Bryant was defending him on a third down. Afterward, Kelce threw up his hands and looked to the referees, seemingly upset that they did not call pass interference on Bryant, and Swift was equally — if not more — upset. After the no-call, the “Karma” singer, who watched the game from a suite, jumped to her feet and yelled something while motioning toward the field, a clip shared by EPSN shows.
Alana Haim — who watched the Chiefs-Patriots matchup in the same box as the singer, her dad Scott Swift and Brittany Mahomes — also appeared upset about the third-quarter no-call, throwing her hands up exasperatedly. Luckily, the Chiefs still turned the drive into a scoring one, taking their four-point lead up to seven points with a field goal seconds later.
And, call or no-call, Kelce and the Chiefs got their desired outcome, maintaining their lead and clinching a 27-17 win over the Patriots.
Swift’s appearance comes just one week after she supported her NFL star beau in a home game at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs played against the Buffalo Bills.
Unlike the Patriots matchup, the Dec. 10 game ended on a heartbreaking note after a play by Kelce for a touchdown was washed out due to a penalty. The Chiefs were unable to score after that, and lost to the New York team 20-17.
