It’s safe to say Travis Kelce has a type. The 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who is currently dating Taylor Swift,
couldn’t help but express his admiration for the lead actress from the hit 1993 film, The Sandlot, during the May 14 episode of New Heights.
As Travis and his older brother, Jason Kelce, prepare to rewatch and review the baseball classic, the two brothers discussed the role of Wendy Peffercorn (Marley Shelton) — the lifeguard idolized by Squints (Chauncey Leopardi) in the film.
“Very overrated, by the way, right?” Jason, 37, asked his brother.
“No, she was so hot!” Travis declared.
“I think she was just hot because she was the only woman at maturity they show the entire friggin’ movie besides the mom,” Jason quipped. “If you’re comparing her to the catcher, yeah, of course she’s gonna be hot.”
But Travis was convinced that his childhood crush would hold up over time, telling his brother, “You’re gonna watch it and be like, ‘Alright, she was hot.’ “
Jason, who is married to Kylie Kelce, jokingly insisted, “We’re gonna judge you, actress that played Wendy Peffercorn,” with Travis chiming in, “I already know you’re hot.”
Notably, Wendy Peffercorn’s most iconic scene in the film sees her wearing a cherry red swimsuit with matching red lips and white sunglasses. Add with her blonde hair, she’s a dead ringer for Swift, 35, who is known for (and has many a lyric about) her red lipstick. The pop star also had a particular penchant for white sunglasses during her 1989 years.
Travis and the “Lover” singer first started dating in 2023. Swift has since shown her unwavering support of the NFL star by attending many of his games, often wearing that signature red lip.
