Travis Kelce may have his own personal football fanbase in the Swifties but that doesn’t mean the tight end is as popular across the league.
The Kansas City Chief star, who announced his engagement to Taylor Swift earlier this week, has been ranked one of the most most annoying players among NFL fans – second only to controversial quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Kelce, 35, has dominated headlines over the past two years thanks to his high-profile romance with pop sensation Swift.
In fact, their A-List relationship, which is now set to make it to the altar, has attracted a whole new demographic of fans – namely younger women – to the sport thanks to the songstress’s frequent appearances at Arrowhead.
Unsurprisingly, he proved to be the most unpopular among the Las Vegas Raiders’ fanbase – the Chiefs’ AFC West rivals. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles – whom the Chiefs beat in Super Bowl LVII and clashed with again in February’s big game – also weren’t fond of Kelce.
Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes also emerged from the survey without a stellar reputation finishing third with 11 percent of the votes.
Both Mahomes and Kelce’s lack of popularity across the league can likely be attributed to the Chiefs’ dominance in recent years.
The duo have led Kansas City to five of the last six Super Bowls, hoisting the Lomabardi Trophy on three of those occasions. However, their own fanbase joined the majority of football supporters in dubbing Rodgers the most annoying player in the league.
Heading into this first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the veteran quarterback, who also finished bottom of Daily Mail+’s Power List, was handed the undesirable NFL superlative by 24 percent of fans.
The four-time MVP is viewed as a controversial figure throughout the league thanks to anti-vaccine stance, recreational use of ayahuasca and bizarre conspiracy theories.
