PATRICK Mahomes and Travis Kelce taste-tested some of the items at their upcoming Kansas City steakhouse restaurant.
The Kansas City Chiefs stars sampled dishes from their new 1587 Prime menu. On Tuesday, the Instagram account of 1587 Prime Steakhouse, which is owned by Mahomes and Kelce, posted a video of the pair trying out the various dishes of steak and other menu features.
The tasting menu included numerous butters, white truffles, chiles toreados, bone marrow, garlic and hibiscus, and condiments such as truffle soy and chimichurri. Kelce reacted to one of the steak and butter offerings.
“I could just tell from the first bite that that was going to be a ‘yeah,'” he said. Mahomes then tasted one of the butters and told Kelce, “You need some of that, dog.”
The video then displays a snippet of the expected menu that consists of wagyu beef, a chop salad, and togarashi fried chicken, among other offerings. The menu also features a steak flight experience that has a sampling of a wagyu filet, a Black Angus ribeye, and a Japanese New York strip steak.
Mahomes commented on the post, writing, “Coming soon..!!” Kelce also replied to the post as he wrote, “Man that food was better than I could have imagined!!
“KC get ready baby!!” The two Chiefs stars first revealed their new restaurant venture in March 2024. The venue is located in the Loews Hotel in downtown Kansas City.
And the name, 1587 Prime, is a nod to Kelce and Mahomes’ jersey numbers. The restaurant will be an upscale dining experience for residents and people from out of town.
Kelce and Mahomes have been participating in the Chiefs’ training camp before the team is set to play in the preseason, which begins on August 9.
They are coming off a Super Bowl 59 blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles back in February.
