Despite being snubbed of an invitation to Trooping the Colour (again), Meghan Markle is reportedly ready to just leave any and all royal family drama in the past.

Her husband, however, feels slightly different about the whole situation and is still “brooding over the past,” according to royal author Tom Quinn.

“Meghan appears to have moved on to some extent, but then she was only part of the royal family for a relatively short time and she has far more to focus on in the States than her husband has,” Quinn told The Mirror before throwing a little shade at Harry’s current endeavors. “She’s the main driver for their commercial enterprises in the States, where, having taken the dog for a walk each morning, Harry has a little to do beyond brooding over the past.”

Over the years, Harry has remained busy with The Invictus Games (which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary), in addition to the Archewell Foundation, various docu-style projects, and his mental health advocacy. The prince has continued to make an effort to reconnect with his family, despite their lack of recognition.

Prince William and King Charles skipped the Invictus celebrations in the U.K., despite being invited, and were reportedly infuriated by Harry and Meghan’s recent trip to Nigeria. Quinn previously told the outlet that Harry was feeling frustrated by his family.

“Harry and Meghan see their recent trip to Nigeria as a huge success, but for Harry, every success is another kind of failure while his family refuse to acknowledge his efforts and steadfastly refuse to apologize for everything that had happened in the past,” Quinn shared.

One of the main reasons Prince Harry wants to reconcile with his estranged family is for both his and Markle’s kids, Archie and Lilibet, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

“We know that Harry’s deepest upset concerns not just his lack of relationship with George, Charlotte and Louis, but also his own children’s lack of a relationship with their cousins,” Quinn said. “Harry and Meghan would love to get round the problem—they would love it if the cousins could meet regularly and have a positive relationship as they grow up, but they cannot see a way to do it while they themselves, Harry and Meghan, are estranged. Harry has said that he hopes the cousins can at least be friends as adults.”
