Taylor Swift’s introduction to the Kelce family has not been completely smooth, according to a bombshell new report.
Travis’s brother Jason, and his wife Kylie, have apparently not made the singer feel too welcome and comments made to the media about their relationship have upset Swift, according to Life and Style magazine. In November, before Jason’s Philadelphia Eagles team played the Chiefs in Kansas City, Kylie Kelce gave an interview saying that the spotlight ‘is not particularly my cup of tea’ and that she prefers to watch games from the stands rather than the luxury suits from where Swift cheers the Chiefs.
Swift has met Kelce’s parents – mom Donna and father Ed – but so far, there have been no pictures of her meeting with Jason, who Travis is extremely close to, or Kylie. Life and Style quoted a source as saying: ‘Taylor hasn’t had the best reception from Jason and his wife.’ Kylie’s quotes about the spotlight particularly irked Swift, with the source adding: ‘Taylor took that personally and since then it’s been very awkward.’
Jason has seen his profile spiral due to his closeness with Travis – the two host the massively successful New Heights podcast together – but the older Kelce brother is typically more reserved than Travis. Taylor understands that it can be exhausting, but she can’t help that everything she does becomes front-page news,’ the source added to Life and Style.
Jason often quizzes Travis about his personal life on their podcast but has always appeared extremely supportive of his relationship with Swift. And as far as Kylie is concerned, she publicly rejected suggestions her ‘spotlight’ comments were meant as criticism of Taylor.
In a follow-up TikTok post, Kylie criticized a headline suggesting she was being critical, saying: ‘Go watch that video. I said it’s not my cup of tea to have attention on me. I didn’t say that. That seems like a stretch to me. You’re reaching!’. And soon after that, she used a Taylor Swift song on a TikTok video about her four-year-old daughter, Wyatt. ‘If you’re gonna try to make a headline out of this, you better offer a suggestion of a better audio…because there isn’t one,’ Kylie said, paying tribute to Swift in a heartfelt post about her child.
