Kansas City Chiefs legend defends Taylor Swift, says she has ‘nothing to do’ with Travis Kelce’s underwhelming performance

Travis Kelce, the 34-year-old tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, shared a heartwarming reference to Taylor Swift’s song “Christmas Tree Farm” on his podcast, “New Heights,” during a conversation with his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce.

The trio discussed their family tradition of selecting a real Christmas tree, recalling their visits to West Philadelphia to find an affordable one. “West Philly. Did you guys go out to Reading or Lancaster?” he asked. Kylie, 31, coyly responded.

“I heard there was a tree farm out there,” trying to conceal a smile. Swifties, fans of Taylor Swift, were quick to catch the not-so-subtle nod, as the 34-year-old singer was raised on a Christmas tree farm in Reading, Pennsylvania, just outside Lancaster County and over an hour’s drive from Philadelphia. Taylor Swift’s song “Christmas Tree Farm” was heavily influenced by her childhood experiences on the 11-acre Pine Ridge Farm in Reading.

In 2019, she released the festive tune along with a music video featuring clips from her upbringing, capturing the nostalgia of growing up on a Christmas tree farm.

Kylie continued to describe the enchanting atmosphere of Christmas tree farms during the holiday season, emphasizing the joy of the tradition.

“Let me be clear: The last couple of years we’ve gone to a Christmas tree farm, and it is delightful,” she said, a sentiment that resonated with the athletes. As the conversation unfolded, Kylie painted a vivid picture of the experience. “It’s so much fun. It really kick-starts the holiday feeling because you get to go out there, walk through a bunch of Christmas trees just living their lives and then chop one down and take home its carcass.”
