Mahomes has liked multiple posts on social media over the last week supporting Donald Trump in the upcoming election – a position seemingly at odds with her new best friend Taylor Swift, who is dating Patrick’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce. Now, in an interview on the WHOOP podcast, Brittany has credited Patrick with helping her block out any criticism she receives online amid her growing fame.

‘He is very good at blocking people out so having him beside has helped,’ she said. ‘The main thing he always told me is to stop caring what people think – especially the people that don’t even know you. ‘I think social media used to get to me a lot. Now, it’s just like, honestly, I don’t give a f*** what people have to say about me anymore. And I think he has helped me get to that point.

‘I am strong in who I am. I am confident in who I am. I confident in mine and his relationship and I am confident in our lives. So why does what other people say have to matter at all?’

Brittany admits that she had to learn this from Patrick, who benefitted from being the son of a professional athlete in retired Minnesota Twins and New York Mets reliever Pat Mahomes Sr.

‘He is a lot better at it than I am, maybe because his dad played professional sports,’ she said. ‘I think he was around it and he understood it a lot more than I did. ‘So having him to help me get through it has helped a lot because he’s very good at managing those things.’
