Travis Kelce got candid about one of his worst traits on the football field. The Chiefs tight end, who returned to training camp this week after jetting around Europe
with his girlfriend Taylor Swift during the off-season, admitted he can be very hard on himself ‘I’m my biggest critic,’ he told reporters during a press conference on Saturday. ‘Nobody can tell me how bad I did on a play, I know it right away, as soon the play got over with. I know what I need to do to get better and everything,’ he continued.
‘It’s just — you have to have that certain mentality. Always finding ways to get better, even when you have success on a play. That’s just how I’ve went about it, and I got that from [coach Andy Reid], knowing that you can always do things better and you can always make somebody else’s job easier on this field.’
Earlier this week, Swift’s loyal legion of fans celebrated the one year anniversary of Kelce ‘shooting his shot’ with the pop star after he attended her concert at the Chiefs’ home, Arrowhead Stadium.
While his efforts were unsuccessful at the time, the couple eventually met, and their fairytale romance would later dominate headlines. In honor of the anniversary, Swifties took to social media to commemorate his persistence.
‘Forever thankful for friendship bracelet, New Heights and Jason [Kelce] being an inquisitive big brother,’ on user wrote. ‘Travis Kelce got Taylor Swift’s attention one year ago today,’ another chimed in. ‘The rest is history.’
A third referred to their story as a ‘real life romantic comedy.’ Meanwhile, a fourth quipped ‘Well Travis, you knew what you wanted and boy, you got her.’
