During Wednesday’s episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Jason, 36, said the tweets were the biggest news “besides the Kelce family reunion game” on Monday, during which the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs, marking Jason’s first win over the Chiefs in his career. Last week, Taylor Swift fans dug up a range of hilarious tweets from Travis’ account dated between 2009 and 2011, and many of them went viral. On Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon sang a song that consisted solely of a selection of the tight end’s old posts, which Travis, 34, praised on the podcast. “That s— was good,” he said of Fallon’s bit. Responding generally to the viral hit his old posts recently became, Travis said, “I was just using Twitter as like a diary… I’m just out here just saying nonsense.” He and Jason, 36, chatted about a few of the more viral posts in particular, including a tweet from April 2011, when Travis wrote, “I just gave a squirle a peice of bread and it straight smashed all of it!!!! I had no idea they ate bread like that!! Haha #crazy.”

He said he “spelled squirrel like a jackass” in the post, while Jason joked, “First of all, that’s the new spelling for squirrel. I’m only spelling squirrel like that from now on. I don’t know why it’s spelled the other way.” The Eagles center continued, “I think the only reason it’s getting crushed is because the spelling, outside of that, I’d be pretty enjoyed if I — if I’m over here throwing bread around and a squirrel’s eating it, I’d be pretty pumped up.” Travis joked that he “made a friend” before admitting, “This is why I don’t tweet anymore, because this is just nonsense.” He did share which tweet he thought was “the funniest one,” which was from November 2009, when he was in college at the University of Cincinnati. “Sooo this teacher tried to call on me in class like I wasn’t paying attention, well I was and I didnt fold under preasure, DUB,” the tweet said. “That’s a big dub,” Jason said, while Travis admitted, “I don’t remember this at all.”

At the time, Travis said “nobody followed me back then” and he admitted that he’s been trying to get the posts deleted since he joined the NFL in 2013. “I’m like, ‘God, I want all those things to get deleted,’ and sure enough it came to surface level and everybody f——- dove into 2011. What a f——- year that was,” he continued. While Travis complained that he felt “tortured” by all the reactions, Jason relished in the hilarity. “It sure made for an enjoyable week, rehashing some old tweets,” he said. Travis’ tweets were also recognized in a big way in Kansas City on Sunday, as one Chipotle location near Arrowhead Stadium renamed itself “Chipolte” in reference to a spelling mistake Travis made in a 2011 tweet. In the post, he wrote, “Went from class to therapy, now I need some #chipolte and then I’m off to check out my new apt.”
